Salesforce's B2B Commerce Cloud Summer ’24 release is here, bringing a variety of new features designed to improve customer experience and make business operations more efficient. To stay ahead in the dynamic world of commerce, we've put together a summary of the most exciting and remarkable features that will catch your eye.
Automate tax processes with the new Salesforce Tax Solution for Salesforce checkout
The Salesforce Tax Solution simplifies the tax calculation, collection, and tax reporting process on global payments. This solution removes the necessity for manually updating static tax tables by automatically calculating US sales taxes in Salesforce checkout.
For those operating outside the US, the original Salesforce Tax Solution, now with a new name Manual Salesforce Tax Solution, is still around. It helps manually manage and calculate tax rates for stores that use gross taxation.
Use visibility rules to manage what Buyers See
Customize the content that buyers see when switching accounts using expression-based visibility rules. Improve user experience and increase engagement by choosing which information is visible to different buyers.
Enhanced checkout transparency and flexibility
Cart Summary has been updated to ensure customers have a clear view of the costs involved in their purchase. Now, the cart summary shows prices for each item, discounts applied to individual items and to the cart as a whole, and the resulting subtotal.
Additionally, the Checkout has been enriched with more options with coupons. The Promotions component on the Checkout page displays applied promotions and shows a field to enter coupon codes.
Connect enhanced LWR sites to Data Cloud
Capture user engagement data, like clicks, scrolling, and product interactions, and send it to Data Cloud. In Data Cloud you can structure your data and use it to create user profile maps, comprehensive site analytics, tailored recommendations, and more. Personalize your sites and discover new ways to use AI.
Create promotions with ease using a template
The promotion creation process has been improved by template feature. This functionality allows to quickly set up promotions by selecting from pre-designed templates that align with the store's products and categories. It simplifies the workflow and helps create promotions without starting from scratch.
Get more data insights with new dashboards
To help businesses fully utilize the power of their data, several new dashboards have been introduced, each designed to provide valuable insights into different aspects of your online store.
Commerce Promotions Dashboard: Evaluate the success of your marketing campaigns effectively. This dashboard allows you to measure the impact of your promotions, coupon offerings, and discount campaigns, helping you understand what drives customer engagement and sales.
Commerce Finance Dashboard: You can monitor your sales, taxes, and shipping charges within a selected date range all in a single dashboard to get a comprehensive view of your store’s financial health.
Product Intelligence Analytics Dashboard: This dashboard provides statistics on total sales and orders, highlights top-selling items and commonly purchased together products, and offers insights into customer search behavior and purchasing patterns.
Inventory Intelligence Analytics Dashboard: This dashboard helps you explore stock status, compare inventory against orders across locations, and track inventory levels and units sold.
Some extra technical features that admins will like
Automatically rebuild your search index
It refreshes every 5 minutes, ensuring the most up-to-date data is shown in search for customers. The Rebuild Log also gives you insight into index and product errors that occurred during indexing, providing you with increased visibility into the status of your index.
Preview added products in your store before activating
Assign a product to as many as five categories in your store and preview the results without leaving the add product page. The new product’s details are saved to your store’s default buyer group, entitlement policy, CMS workspace, price book, strikethrough price book, and catalog. Previously, you added this information manually.
Preview more content in more ways in CMS workspaces
You can now preview custom content types in enhanced CMS workspaces. And without leaving your CMS workspace, preview your content on an Experience Builder site as a guest user or authenticated user.
