The client has their own website. Some marketing campaigns require creating website forms that have to collect customer personal information, save data in Salesforce CRM and trigger Double Opt-In process. The client wants to create forms by themselves in future, therefore, it is needed to develop functionality that will allow non-technical people to manage this.

Cloud pages with Smart Capture is used for website forms creation. Smart Capture allows to create forms by drag and drop method what is convenient for non-technical people. The html forms have been used by the client before, and it was pretty complicated for them to manage this. Vimera team wrote detailed guide how to create forms using Cloud pages and Smart Capture tool with the clear description of every step and screen shots.

All forms redirect to Thank you page, which is the universal handler of all the existing and future forms. Two scripting languages, AMPScript and SSJS, were used for development of this universal handler. We used also JSON file for storing fields of every form and corresponding field from Salesforce CRM where we need to save info to. Once a new form is created, the client will need to add a new record into this JSON file.

Captured info is stored in data extensions in Marketing Cloud and saved into Salesforce CRM after the form submission.

Double Opt-In process is triggered after form submission as well. Before the process starts, we check whether the customer is a subscribed contact in Marketing Cloud. If yes, we prevent sending Double Opt-In email, otherwise, the process proceeds.
